Note to self.

Standard

Contradictions make for interesting characters. Conflict makes for an interesting story. Embrace contradictions and conflicts, don’t create them. Stay funny, stay hungry. Comedy and tragedy are not exclusive, but symbiotic. Do not use big words. Wait. Listen. It’s okay to be vivacious. It’s okay to be loud. Both statements apply to parties and performances. If you want to be a good writer, if you want to be a great writer, if you want to be an excellent writer then observe. Be quiet. Don’t worry about gammar for the first or second draft. If you don’t know how to write or what to write then just write. Ramble, but ramble on a page. Ramble on this page. Look away from the computer and read. Read everyday. And breathe. Breathe everyday.” – Marina V. Shifrin
